Our Team

David founded CMC Education after nearly 20 years as a High School Mathematics Head Teacher, bringing deep classroom leadership experience to the tutoring space.

Across his career, David has taught thousands of students spanning the full spectrum of ability, from those consolidating foundational skills to those working well ahead of their year level. His expertise spans the entire curriculum, from Year 7 through to Extension 2 Mathematics. He has helped produce consistently outstanding results in school assessments and the HSC.

David's contribution to mathematics education extends beyond the classroom. He has presented senior mathematics courses with Edrolo and worked as an academic in mathematics education at the University of Sydney.

Today, David leads CMC's vision and strategic direction, working closely with families and tutors to ensure every student is set up to succeed.

Clarinda is the Business Operations Manager at CMC Education, working closely alongside David on the systems, accounts, and administration that keep the business running smoothly.

As part of the family at the heart of CMC's founding, Clarinda brings a personal investment in the business that goes beyond the day-to-day. Every family we work with is treated with the same care she'd want for her own. This is something she carries over from her previous career as an Orthoptist, where patient care and attention to detail were central to her work.

While day-to-day centre operations are led by our centre managers, Clarinda ensures the business itself is well supported behind the scenes, giving the team the foundation to focus on students and families.

As Assistant Centre Director at CMC Pennant Hills, Steve leads and trains the tutoring team, oversees the development of CMC's teaching resources, and works closely with families to support each student's progress. He manages student learning and parent relationships at the centre, and oversees its day-to-day operations.

Steve brings 5 years of tutoring experience at CMC and over 4,000 hours in the classroom, underpinned by a Bachelor of Computer Science. This foundation gives him a precise, analytical approach to mathematics. It's combined with a strong understanding of what students need to succeed at every level.

Steve is deeply respected by parents and students alike across all grades and levels, valued for his consistency, care, and results.

As Assistant Centre Director at CMC Cherrybrook, Joel mentors and trains junior tutors and contributes to the ongoing development of CMC's teaching resources, continually striving to uphold and build on CMC's high standard of tutoring. He manages student learning and parent relationships at the centre, and oversees its day-to-day operations.

Joel brings over 6 years of tutoring experience, including prior experience at other tutoring companies before joining CMC, and holds a Bachelor of Physics and a Bachelor of Secondary Education. This breadth of experience, combined with his academic background, gives him both subject depth and real classroom insight, allowing him to translate complex concepts into lessons that genuinely land with students.
